Leather Academy—
Training programmes for all

With Leather Academy we aim to educate and share knowledge about the many benefits of leather throughout the entire value chain. With a rich heritage spanning nearly a century, Elmo has accumulated extensive experience in the leather industry. We want to share our knowledge with our clients, which is why we’ve developed several training programmes suited for all customers and specifiers. Whether you require a 30-minute brief introduction in your office or a two-day intensive in-depth course at the tannery, we’ve got you covered.

Events and Workshops – Customised Programmes 1—2 hours

Our bespoke workshops aim to convey and capture the unique value of leather, ensuring this knowledge reaches the end customer. Each session is tailored based on the visitors’ position in the supply chain, often focusing on educating manufacturers about leather’s unique selling points. This enables them to credibly communicate these features to their customers. We train our partners and clients to provide relevant information at the moment of purchase.

Workshops are engaging and interactive, often including activities such as painting and printing on leather or creating items from scrap material. Utilising scrap leather is essential for us, emphasising the importance of creating something valuable from existing resources.

Luncheons – Focused Training 30 Minutes—1 Hour

Time is no barrier to gaining leather expertise. Our lunch sessions offer intensive, tailored training that fits into a short period. Each course is customised to the client’s specific needs or interests, such as our production process, eco-conscious practices like zero waste and animal welfare, or the properties of leather like texture, materiality, and colour options for interior projects or furniture design.

We also explore the synergy of combining leather with other materials, such as textiles, to enhance their functionality and aesthetic appeal.
