Elmo congratulates designer Jenny Nordberg and Yllw on receiving Utmärkt Svensk Form 2025 for their groundbreaking project The Executive, a furniture collection that redefines how we view reuse and material potential.
After a 23-year hiatus, Utmärkt Svensk Form has returned to spotlight Swedish design projects that successfully combine sustainability, innovation, and aesthetics. The Executive, developed by Nordberg together with Yllw Factory’s craftsmen, does exactly that. The collection transforms discarded office furniture into striking new pieces, proving that circular design can be both expressive and functional.
By treating old components as raw materials rather than waste, Nordberg challenges conventional production logic and highlights the creative power of recontextualisation. Acoustic panels become armchairs, tabletops are reassembled into coffee tables, and desk frames find new life as sculptural lamps.
Among the series is a sofa upholstered in Elmo leather, deliberately chosen for its natural tactility and ability to age beautifully with use, adding depth and authenticity to the piece’s story.
At Elmo, we’re proud to see our materials become part of projects that push design forward, blending craftsmanship and sustainability in meaningful, lasting ways.
