For Stockholm Design Week 2024, Hem presented a special exhibition exploring new material expressions for the Puffy Lounge Chair by Faye Toogood. In collaboration with Elmo, the entire Puffy collection was reimagined in a series of unique leather finishes, each selected to highlight the chair’s sculptural softness and tactile depth.

The material palette ranged from the earthy tones of the Sarek palette, chosen for their natural warmth and quiet elegance, to the bold, metallic sheen of Elmotreasure, which offered a more experimental take on the chair’s iconic drape. Together, these variations demonstrated how leather can shift the mood of a piece: grounding it, amplifying it, or transforming it entirely.
Working closely with Hem’s design team, Elmo developed custom options that balance structure with softness, allowing Puffy’s characteristic folds to evolve beautifully with time. It is a meeting of shared values — craftsmanship, honesty in materials, and quality that lasts — where leather becomes not just a covering, but a design tool that adds character and deepens expression.
